The Open Water Diver Course is the most popular diver certification in the world. At Nico Dives Cool, we like to teach the Open Water Course with SSI as their philosophy and teaching method are aligned with ours, but our experienced Instructors can teach courses from other famous diving agencies too. All certifications are recognized throughout the World. This way you can become an autonomous diver and dive the whole Planet. This certification level will allow you to dive autonomously up to 18 meters in depth. What a wonderful world for you to discover.

During the Open Water Diver Course you will learn the right skills and obtain the basic diving knowledge to become an autonomous diver. Once certified, you can enjoy beautiful dives with a buddy, a certified diver like you.

What differentiates us from other Dive Centres

At Nico Dives Cools we want you to have the best learning experience possible. This is why we keep our student ratios to dive instructors extremely low. Compared to other large dive centers you get a highly personalized course and diving practice experience. Very often our experienced diving instructor will only teach one student at a time. We prefer to have no more than two students per instructor so we can ensure an excellent quality education. Also, this is the key reason why Nico Dives Cool has such an amazing 5-star reputation amongst its customers. Having said that we can be flexible (add more Instructors) if you want to do your course with several people. Simply let us know your preferences and we will make sure that you have a fantastic learning experience.

The other thing that makes us stand out from the crowd is that we take you to some of the best diving spots to do your course. Rather than sitting three days in the same spot, like learning in Sanur, we will bring you around different dive locations. Typically we will bring you to Tulamben and Padang Bai. There you will dive into the beautiful Blue Lagoon dive sites with amazing coral bommies and a lot of special critters to spot. In Tulamben, you will enjoy the colorful coral reefs and the world-famous USAT Liberty Shipwreck.

What is included?

Before you start diving you will be required to review and learn some basic dive theory. We recommend doing the e-learning course before arriving in Bali. So we can focus more on the diving skills and practice more, once you are here. On the day we will pick you up from your hotel and later drop you off too. On the drive we review your diving knowledge, to make sure you have a good grasp of the fundamental diving theory.

Diving insurance is included as it’s all necessary gear for the course. We only use high-quality gear, from trusted scuba gear producers such as, Apeks or Aqualung.

Now, let’s get to the water part. We will start with one day of confined water sessions (shallow water, or pool) for skills practice. Following this day we do four 4 open water dives over day 2 and day 3. We are also flexible to compress the course should you not have enough time. No problem, just let us know your limitations.
